HAUNTED MANSION review – Fans of the Disney attraction will enjoy

Movie Length: 2 hours 3 minutes

What is it: A supernatural comedy based on the attraction of the same name. We find the main characters played terrifically by Rosario Dawson and Chase W. Dillon recruiting experts in various aspects of the paranormal to help get rid of ghosts at their new house.

What Dan thought: Are you a fan of the namesake Disney attraction? If so, you’ll love this movie. There are lots of Easter eggs throughout, and the movie goes into the lore of the various attractions at the Disney parks. The soundtrack was also excellent as the movie goes on, and of course the classic Grim Grinning Ghosts (The Screaming Song) is featured prominently in the movie.

Of course, since Disney produced the movie the special effects were terrific including the ghosts (not quite 999 of them…), and other parts of the ride including the Endless Hallway, the Doom Buggies, the Stretching Room, and of course the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

There are also a couple of fun cameos in the movie, one of which I didn’t expect.

Dan’s Grade: B+. If you’re a fan of the various Disney rides of the same name, and want a fun 2 hour movie to get some good AC (hopefully…) in, go see this movie.
