We jump back to where we left off at the end of the first issue with a spider creature attacking from above, God why did it have to be a spider!? Fara gives away that she has been hiding in Ordon’s traveling pack, she also quickly learns that this mission was not at all what she was expecting.

After all her boasting of being faster than others, well lets just say that she sees how fast these monsters can be. Saving Fara from the creature, Ordon is bitten in the process and is now infected with poison. He sat her down for a real talk, about how dangerous this journey is and facing monsters that will be coming to their clan. This is not some task to prove yourself, it’s about saving the lives of their clan.

Ordon leaves her behind to go back home, and as you guessed it, Fara follows instead. After a while the mount that Ordon is riding collapses and is on the verge of death, it seems that it too was bitten by the creature from before.  Fara rushes out, bypassing Ordon and goes to the mount. She starts singing to it, to help distract it from its suffering as it dies. Fara tells Ordon that he will need her help soon, since he was also bitten and the poison works fast. Reluctantly he allows her to come along now, and he starts getting slower as the poison works its way through him. At no point do they address the wound or how they are going to stop the poison. Or even if there is a way to cure Ordon from the effects of the poison.

They finally stop to make camp for the night, and after five or so attempts, Fara is able to get the fire going (and making something for them to eat that is not poisonous). As they are settling in they talk about Shoni, Ordon’s wife, and he says Fara is just as stubborn as she is. Ordon doesn’t like sitting around getting better, he wants to keep moving so he can save the clan. He tries to leave Fara behind in the middle of the night, but she catches him.

As they are fighting, the ground starts shaking. It seems that they have been walking on top of a giant turtle! As it starts waking up and shaking everything, Ordon and Fara slip off. As we watch them fall off we are able to see the turtle fully. He is very pretty and HUGE! They fall into the water (yes, I’m also surprised that they were on a turtle that was in the water too!), Fara saves Ordon when he passes out from his arm in the water. Fara also loses consciousness, but due to lack of oxygen. When they are floating in the water, we see four arms reach out for them, which could be a dream. But it is not, and Fara wakes in a cave with a still passed out Ordon-and a strange creature person. Who also happens to have four arms…
