Our friends over at Bandai Namco just spoil me, and I love it! Almost all of my favorite figures have come from them, and whenever they send me an email saying more is on the way…well let’s just say I’m chasing down the mailman everyday asking if anything for me is here yet. They’re so sick of me now, hahah.
A few months after SDCC I got quite the package from them, the biggest box I have ever gotten in the mail before. It took me a couple of tries getting it into my house because it kept slipping from my hands. For a good twenty minutes I just sat on the floor next to the box staring at it, I just couldn’t help myself. I was just that excited!
Thinking back on it, I still get a warm and giddy feeling from what I saw in the box. I was gifted a huge Kaido (the big bad) figure from the series One Piece, like, think massive! He’s the weight and size of a very big bowling ball. All his little details are really cool, he has actual chains on his belt, and little bolts of steam/power that’s wrapping around his body. He also comes with a spiked bat and cape, which needs its own stand to keep up. Funny enough, it took me an hour to unpack him and figure out where all his pieces fit together. My goodness is he HUGE! He now takes up my whole nightstand, I set him up to look angrily at my alarm clock.
The other big figure they sent me was Uta/Shanks from One Piece, noticing a theme yet? I have been obsessed with the character Uta from the One Piece: Film Red movie since it came out last november. I adore her and have been trying to get my hands on every single figure of her. I guess I’m making my own little shrine to her now, no other way to explain it. Anyway, the figure has her singing her heart out (a big moment from the film, and one of my favorite angry songs, Backlight). The best thing about this figure is that it isn’t a single figure, it’s two. Because if you spin Uta around, facing out from behind her is Shanks with just a crystal wall dividing them. It’s really cool, beautiful, and you already know that I pretty much always have Uta’s side facing out. Although I am turning it to the side more now to see them both, because they look very cool back to back.
The second package that followed up this big one was two S.H.Figuarts, Roronoa Zoro and Monkey D. Luffy. Two out of three of my favorite men from One Piece (now I just need Sanji). I just love these movable and changeable figures. I have a set of the Naruto and Jujutsu Kaisen ones that were sent to me early this year (and the awesome Denji one from Chainsaw Man). These two are such great partners in crime and I am so happy to have them both in my growing collection. To tell you all a secret, I actually don’t have any Zoro figures. Gasps all around I bet, but I do have a look up figure of him. Just haven’t been able to find or get my hands on figures of him (he’s pretty pricey online cause everyone loves him).
Now because of this amazing mail I am in the long process of cleaning and reorganizing my figures that I have out. I’m going to need to take over more of my bookshelves, but I can’t wait to see them out and up where they should be! If I keep getting these big figures…. Well let’s just say that I’m going to be making them their own stands/shelves.
You can find all of these figures for sale below and a link to Bandai Namco Tamashi Nations to check out their preorder calendar and see what’s coming out soon! I already have so many I’m planning to preorder!
