The XXX-plorers are back for more in this kinky and hilarious second arc from writer Tim Seeley and new artist Gisèle Lagacé. They’ll do anything to save the earth, even if it means getting on their knees! Follow the team as they find new and often sexually creative ways to stave off the giant alien jellyfish who’ve decided they must do their bidding if they want to stay on their good side!
First off, kudos to Seeley and the team for introducing the comic world to the “Balldo”. What at first seems like just another hilarious but fake sex toy aimed at inducing side splitting laughter, is in fact, real! It exists in the real world just like they have imagined it in this book. Who would have thought? I sure hope I’m not the only one to look things like this up??!!
This new arc is off to a promising start and the hilarity that often ensued reading the first arc has not been lost. The writing is witty and funny but also adds that element of sci-fi science trickery and charm. While it walks the line of as a bit of a social commentary it never takes itself seriously and that’s what makes this series so fun. I laughed out loud a couple times while reading the first issue. The art is just gorgeous! It’s a very sexy comic. Newcomer Gisele Lagace knocks it out of the park nailing the style and vibe of this book. The characters look and feel naughty as they should and she’s working some magic with those pencils. I especially love the surprise character at the end as well as all the knock-off characters shown in a panel near the end of the book. I don’t want to give away any spoilers. Nonetheless, If you’re a little naughty and enjoy a funny read this book is one not to miss! I’d only enjoy it more if they added a pin-up centerfold of the characters to each issue! Hint! Hint!
