Judging from posts I’ve seen on my social media timelines as of late, one of the more anticipated games in 2019 is KINGDOM HEARTS III, and today a new trailer for the Square Enix game was released.
The new trailer introduces Stitch from LILO AND STITCH as a new summon, some new Keyblade attacks, as well as footage Kairi wielding the Keyblade, and more.
Also announced was a special pop-up area at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs area, that will feature a demo of the upcoming game, art from the game, and more. The area is now open and will run until the end of January.
The game is set for release on January 29th, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One systems including the Xbox One X.
SORA AND FRIENDS PREPARE FOR THE FINAL BATTLE
New Trailer Sets the Events for the KINGDOM HEARTS III Launch on Jan. 29, 2019
LOS ANGELES (Dec. 17, 2018) – Sora and friends gather for the ultimate battle between light and darkness with today’s release of the latest KINGDOM HEARTS III trailer.
As unexpected events began to unfold in the Disney worlds at the hands of the enemy’s dark ambitions, the heroic trio of Sora, Donald, and Goofy find adventures ahead, from aquatic battles in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean to dances with the townspeople in the Kingdom of Corona from Tangled. The new footage also showcases Stitch from Lilo and Stitch as a special “link” (summon), as well as cooking-themed Ratatouille Keyblade attacks.
Footage of Kairi wielding a Keyblade and what may be a glimpse of Sora’s Nobody all point to new pieces of the title’s storyline.
Music for the trailer featured excerpts of the brand-new original KINGDOM HEARTS III opening theme song, titled, “Face My Fears,” produced in collaboration with internationally renowned singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada, eight-time Grammy® Award winning artist Skrillex and acclaimed record producer Poo Bear. The song will be available on Jan. 18, 2019.
