THE WITCHER Season 2 review: I just need MORE

Now that we are firmly in the new year, that means all new shows and seasons to binge watch. The Witcher of course being one of the top ones that we have all been waiting years for.

In this second season, we are finally on one timeline that’s concurrent and a lot more character growth. Plus, the amazingness of getting to the main plot of the series and you know more monsters to scare us.

It’s taken two full run-throughs of watching season two for it to fully sink in, and for me to finally write this review. But, it was well worth it. The show definitely kicked everything up a notch, and it’s not just Geralt’s armor that’s gotten an upgrade.

Relationships are the name of the game this season, and character development. With our key players, Yennefer, Geralt, Ciri, and Jaskir (because of course!). Every single character we met in season one has changed, whether it’s for the better or not is yet to be seen (though we already know who to keep a closer eye on next season).

Though we are fully into the thick of it with the storyline and finding more and more out about our beloved characters. We are still left wanting more. More of the storyline, mainly because we got too much tease for the greater things coming (the real meat of the story we have yet to see the full picture of ). We also want more in the character department, because they are all hiding the why behind them (Jaskir, I know you got secrets).

I guess my main take away from this season two of The Witcher is it’s okay. I know, I know (please don’t hate me too much). I just was not as engulfed with the main story this time around, yes we are finding more on the reasons as to what everyone is trying to get to. But, the story was a lot more fun to watch and figure out in season one. Hopefully we won’t have to wait multiple years for season three to come along to get the answers we desperately need, but we can all catch up and rewatch to our heart’s content on season one and two of The Witcher now on Netflix!
