Kumoricon 2025 Wrap up!

It’s only been about a week since Kumoricon 2025 ended, and therefore my last convention of the year (yes, there are a few more but I need a break). Kumo was one heck of a way to end the year for myself, because this convention was about the silly things that take place at conventions (which we see less of in the early part of the year at conventions).

Wherever you looked over the three days (or on day zero). You would see friends joking around, having fun making silly videos of their cosplays, and interacting with each other. It was really wholesome to see, and brought many smiles to con-goers faces. On Sunday in particular, there was a Saja Boy conga line walking around (with a Mira and sadly, no Romance). It was very fun to see as they walked around con together and into the vendor hall (one way not to lose each other).

There was also some really great programming, and my friends and I had a fun time going through the schedule for each day. When we ended up stopping by Yoai Bingo, the line to get into the room was absolutely crazy. There ended up not being enough seats or sheets for everyone, so it was sad we didn’t get to play. We also went to the cosplay contest to support a friend. It was pretty fun how a whole row of us didn’t know any of the games people were cosplaying. I knew about four of the cosplays that people were in, sad that I couldn’t appreciate as much as when knowing the series. But, everyone looked amazing and did great performances. There was a Huntrix group that had a really fun performance and everyone in the audience was singing along (myself included). There was also a Sailor Moon cosplayer that did a skit that was super fun to watch and brought on the nostalgia to people who used to watch the older version of the show.

There were also a lot more parties/raves this year than what I have seen at Kumoricon in the past. They had raves almost every night, on and offsite of the convention center. Watching cosplayers go to any of these was fun, because everyone wanted to change the character they were cosplaying into a night time or rave version. Very interesting and cool to see.

The convention also started on Halloween this year, which hasn’t happened in a long time at this convention. Many were very excited and planned out treats they wanted to hand out, along with doing a Halloween costume the character they were cosplaying would do. Kumoricon also set up many stations throughout the convention for people to trick or treat, getting candy and other fun goodies. People also seemed to be having a lot of fun just handing out candy to others and to the younger kids that were brought by their parents.

In the end, I would say this was another very fun-filled weekend spent at Kumoricon this year and I cannot wait to go again next year!
