George C. Romero’s THE RISE comic to get an exclusive cover through Izzy’s Comics

When you think Zombies, one name should come to mind before any others. George A. Romero. His son George C. Romero wrote a soon to be released comicbook called THE RISE from Heavy Metal Magazine’s comic book line that serves as a prequel to his father’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD series of movies.

Our friends at Izzy’s Comics are set to release a store exclusive cover for the first issue of the series that is set for release on March 31st. The main cover for the comic has already sold out at retailers like TFAW, Midtown Comics, and others from what I hear.

The cover art for the exclusive cover is from Pepe Valencia with coloring done by Francesco Segala, and this version of the first issue is limited to just 500 copies, and as far as I can tell it may be the only store exclusive cover for what should be a great comic.

This version of the cover costs $15, but you can get it signed by George C. Romero for an additional $25. Izzy’s Comics is also offering a graded/slabbed version of the magazine size comic for a total of $80 which includes the signature and grading fees. As of the posting of this story, they have under 30 signed copies left, so expect it to sell out. It can be pre-ordered now from Izzy’s Comics, hut one can expect to wait a couple months to get it if you want a graded/slabbed version from CGC as they seem to be very busy at the moment.
