LET MY PEOPLE BALL prologue review – Colorful and imaginative retelling of the story of Moses (Ibitayo, Polley) LightReads

Writer: Ife J. Ibitayo
Artist: Milo Polley

A special thanks to Ife for the preview pages!

A colorful and imaginative retelling of the story of Moses in the book of Exodus. The three issue series covers the Israelites’ plight starting with their enslavement by the Pharaoh and culminating with their brilliant escape which was led by Moses to the promised and.

Ife writes with a gentle hand and thoughtful precision. You can tell he is looking to not just tell this story but also take the journey with the reader. The dialogue in this story is easy to read and understand while bringing to light the historical importance of the narrative. Polley’s art is colorful and detailed with a lightness to it that makes it very accessible for the young readers it’s aimed at. There is some seriousness to the story but not without breaks of humor, love, and joy. If you are looking for a fun and unique way to introduce kids to the stories of the bible and religion in general, this comic book would be a great place to start.

My rating 9/10 –  Great!!
