Ms. Marvel S1 E6 ‘No Normal’ review – Superheroes need babysitters too

Alright guys! Here we are the final episode of the Ms. Marvel season one (which also might just be a stand alone season, we shall see). With this episode we are just getting some of the last loose ends cleared up, with only a few questions leftover for another time.

This finale week is all about Kamran and the official start to Kamala as Ms. Marvel, who is more sure of her powers than ever before. She does all she can to help Kamran and the people she cares about (and the community, who also has her back). Full of Easter eggs and fun cameos that hint at way more to come, this last episode is action packed!

Well, there’s a lot going on in this finale episode and so much we learned. Finally we have the confirmation of mutants back in the MCU, not just people becoming enhanced, but actual mutants. This has been a long time coming and we all thought it would never come. I for one am so happy, because now the storylines for so many superheroes will no longer need to create a new power backstory. I would also love to see X-Men get a total makeover for this new generation, I’m not saying that Hugh Jackman was not the greatest Wolverine (he was and always will be and can never be replaced), but the rest of the characters and actual storyline (in the movie-verse) need a big do over. Anyway, I love that this is going back to who Ms. Marvel is and staying true to the comics in a way (though no shapeshifting into different objects or people this time around).

Let’s rewind a bit and head back to some more fun topics that popped up in this week’s episode, the big one being- no secrets with the family. That’s right folks! Kamala’s family knows and are very much behind her on it, as long as she stays safe (it also helps that her mother knows how to find your phone for her now). We also get to see the real life superhero outfit and the leading up to superhero name! All thanks to Kamala’s parents, still being some of the best in a Marvel series!

We also get a little more of Kamran and his powers, which are very much like Kamala’s. Not sure how they are coming out in him all of a sudden now, but hopefully in the future we will get to see him and find out more. I also have to say that the Damage Control agency is a joke with no real point to why they were messing everything up or for what real reason. This has been bugging me all season and honestly I would like to know why I should even care about them showing up all the time ruining stuff.

Ms. Marvel is set to return in The Marvels, but until then you can catch all episodes of Ms. Marvel on Disney+ now!
