This year at San Diego Comic-Con, we had a number of correspondents with ‘boots on the ground’, doing their best to take in as much of the sights and sounds of the show as possible, checking out a number of the panels and also interviewing some really cool and interesting creatives, dotted around the show.

One of these was our Senior US Correspondent Dan Berry and he was given the chance to sit down and chat loosely with legendary comics artist Darick Robertson, the gentlemen behind the co-creation of some of the most indelible characters in comics, from Spider Jerusalem in TRANSMETROPOLITAN, to Happy The Horse in HAPPY! (both with writer Grant Morrison)
Darick is also behind the titular THE BOYS from the book Darick co-created with Garth Ennis, the Amazon Video adaptation of which took over San Diego Comic-Con this year, with some eye-catching building wraps and incredible off-site activations.

In this loose and informal chat with Darick, Dan and he get into what San Diego Comic-Con has meant to them personally, as well as Darick recounting some of his favourite highlights of the con, interacting with fans and colleagues, as well as some peers in the industry that left even him speechless! He also talks about some of the things that is currently exciting him from all aspects of pop culture…
Thanks to Darick for taking the time to talk to us, and to Dan for helping setting up the interview. Enjoy!!
