Continuing the posting of our coverage of this years San Diego Comic-Con, there were so many sights and sounds available to sink in, with our ‘boots on the ground’ checking out as much as they possibly could, as well as interviewing some really cool and interesting creatives, dotted around the show.
Our Senior US Correspondent Dan Berry had the chance to participate in the round table session for upcoming animation comedy, THE FABULOUS FURRY FREAK BROTHERS, based on the iconic Gilbert Shelton underground comic of the late 1960’s. That book was very much a product of its time, with its characters partaking of as much of said ‘product’ as they could lay their hands on!
The new series will be a eight part animated show with Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland as Executive Producers and Showrunners, and Adam Devine and Blake Anderson as Producers and Voice Talent.

2019 is a different landscape and here the showrunners and some of the cast talk about what they’ve done to bridge the gap between super-liberal ’60s counterculture and the rather more centric-conservatist landscape we find ourselves in now. The book was a cult hit even back in the day: what have the team done to help present the Brothers to an audience that either outlived them, a new audience that may have not heard of the book at all or original fans that were too stoned to remember them in the first place??

Thanks to Alan Cohen (Exec Producer/Showrunner), Alan Freedland (Exec. Producer/Showrunner/Writer), Adam Devine (Producer/Voice Talent) and Blake Anderson(Producer/Voice Talent) for taking the time to do the roundtable, and to Dan for helping setting up the interview. Enjoy!!
