Thanks to Image Comics for the review copy!

As we approach the almost halfway point of this vicious and psychological thriller Michael continues to plot out the pieces for his comic book while becoming more and more attached to his subject. So much so that his own life continues to unravel around him and it’s becoming harder and harder to tell if he’s just really just a fan of the story. Meanwhile it appears the deviant killer has struck again and the implications facing Michael continue to mount.
Wow! What an issue! This book just seems to get better and better. I’m not sure how or where Tynion pulls this stuff out of his head or how he keeps all of his titles straight but this comic continues to deliver on all fronts. I sound like a broken record but it’s such a weighty and emotional read. Very personal. Very carefully plotted. It’s as if each conversation or scene is a key ingredient and missing any detail will leave you in the cold. There just isn’t any filler or time to slow down with this book. It’s full speed ahead as we continue to plunge deeper and deeper into the fragile and dark minds of all the main players. Tynion continues to build on the backstory while also building complete histories of each character and I know there are clues in there we’re all missing. Each conversation witnessed is worth a second read. It’s truly remarkable! As we weave closer and closer to the finish line there are just so many layers at work here. In each panel, each conversation, each detail. The creative team just continues to knock this one out of the park and if it’s not nominated for some year end awards when it finishes I’ll be shocked. I simply can’t wait for the next issue!
My rating 10/10 – Superb!!
