As war rages two former enemies must become allies to escape an unknown planet. A planet which holds untold secrets that may foreshadow a new darkness growing in the universe. From superstar writer Robert Kirkman and the always fantastic Lorenzo De Felici who last teamed up for Oblivion Song comes a new interplanetary saga within a shared universe that holds mysteries and surprises you have to see to believe!

Wow! Well now we know why this book has been shrouded in mystery and it was a wild twist for sure! I certainly didn’t see it coming. Now I don’t want to create any spoilers for the many people who haven’t had a chance to read this book yet but I think it’s going to gain a lot of traction soon enough. Who better to take a familiar property and make it fresh and new than Kirkman himself! He manages to breathe new life into a universe that has always been popular but was getting stale. With this new story, setting and possible expansion a whole new world of possibilities have been opened up. On top of that having his co-pilot De Felici on pencils for the ride is also a fresh and exciting compliment. His character design and world building allow this story to completely be free from any restraints while still allowing for connection to the main universe. Together they make a compelling start to what will eventually be fleshed out over the coming issues. The action, mood and dialogue take you in an unexpected direction before dropping that “wow” surprise on you near the end of the book. I’ll be curious to see if this is a book Kirkman is just getting off the ground or if he will be helming this for a long run. Either way, it’s going to please a lot of current fans while potentially adding a bunch of new readers to the fray. Good stuff.

My rating 10/10 Superb
